Unfortunately we found out later that her red Snuggie was a knockoff!!!!


Homecoming Art Market 2009


Well the classic Ohio fall weather seemed to win and we had a very poor showing at the Homecoming Art Market on Saturday but I would like to thank all the vendors that did come and brave the cold. I would also like to thank Don Hibbard for his effort with the hog roast. It did not happen on Saturday due to the rain and lack of people but Don gave it his all and tried to make it a good time for everyone.

Holiday Show Information

The Holiday Show will be December 12th and 13th at the Market on East State ( former Mall). The vendor fee is $50.00 and needs to be paid ASAP to Lori Hibbard ( email listed below). Please call with questions.

Pig Roast

We are roasting a piggy after the Homecoming Art Market this Saturday around 5pm. Please bring all of your family members and join in the fun. Please bring a side dish and your own drinks. Please send questions to Don Hibbard (emails listed at bottom of page)

Thank You to all the artists who came on Thursday night to our membership meeting. We had some amazing desserts and a really good crowd of people with an interest in the group. If you did not make it to the meeting you still need to renew your membership with Lori. The bonus now is that you get a nice frame with the ALPACA logo on it to display that you are a member. These frames will fit in a 5 X 7 frame and you can design them with your medium for display at your booth. If you are not a vendor then it will just be pretty to put your picture in for posterity!

Notes from the President:

This Saturday, September 26 from 10 to 1 pm in Bicentennial Park. You must be a paid member and have paid your $20 Art Market fee. Please write me by Thursday to tell me if you are going to be at the Art Market.

At the last board meeting on 9-17-09 we talked about a few things that I need to share.

The most important thing is that the next membership meeting is going to be on

October 8th at Arts West.

Please bring anyone interested in joining ALPACA.

There will be desserts, coffee and important information about the group, grants and future shows.

We talked about upcoming show date for 2010 and here are some of the potential dates:

July 4th Show on July 3rd and 4th 2010

Foothills Art and Blues Festival on August 27th and 28th 2010

Holiday Show on December 11th and 12th 2010

We want to encourage people to think ahead and be prepared for shows in the future.

Meet a member of ALPACA!

Janet and Dave Gustafson work in the medium of fused glass. Janet is a teacher for Athens City Schools and Dave has just retired from working in school psychologist. They currently serve on the ALPACA board with Dave as president. You can see their work at many local shows such as the Dairy Barn Holiday Show, ART Markets at Bicentennial Park, Holiday Shows at The Markets on East State and many more.
